The Mash-Up ideation technique is a fun exercise that brings unexpected things together to spark new ideas. To identify a current problem needing a solution, a "How might we" question is created. In this exercise, the question is, "How might we make working from home more enjoyable?"

Mash-Up starts by creating two lists of elements from two broad, unrelated categories. The next step is to cross-pollinate the list items to develop crazy, new ideas. Finally, five of the best ideas to are selected to name, sketch, and expand on. This ideation method is a quick and entertaining way to think outside of the box.
