Tobi Bust Sculpture
Software: Blender, Nomad Sculpt
Skills: creative direction, 3D modeling, 3D printing, casting and molding, candlemaking
This sculpture started as an idea I shared with my husband, Aideh. As a plant enthusiast, I love finding unique planters to home my plants in. In recent years, bust planters have become popular, especially replicas of Grecian women and Michaelangelo's David. This sparked an idea to create a piece with features that resemble our Nigerian roots.
Tobi is a life-size bust sculpture and planter, initially designed and printed as a 3D model by myself and Aideh. Over time, we have experimented with various mediums and connected with suppliers to create resin, cement, and concrete versions.
Aideh has also gone on to create two new models, Kennedy and Nubia. He's even turned Nubia's model into a candle.
These sculptures are still in the production and testing phases. However, in due time, we plan to produce and sell several bust sculptures.
